TIA Tag Tables

Export, edit and import PLC tag tables.

plccheck tia export software exports PLC tag tables to <PLC>/PLC tags/<group>/<table>.xml with both --engine direct and --engine openness. The XML opens in the extension's tag table editor. Each table has an export metadata sidecar and participates in TIA comparisons, stale-file cleanup, and imports.

plccheck tia export software "My project" --out exported
plccheck tia import --project "My project" --root exported "exported/PLC/PLC tags"

Use --create when importing a new table or folder. Existing tables use the normal content-baseline and overwrite checks. The importer reads the table name from XML, preserves the original group identity from export metadata, and rejects a mismatch between the XML name and that metadata.

The direct reader follows the persisted tag folder graph and table membership relations. It writes ordinary and structured tags, logical addresses, external access settings, user constants, and multilingual comments in the native Simatic ML format. System constants remain in system-constants.yml; they are not imported as user constants. Unsupported or unreadable members fail the table export instead of producing a successful partial table.

Verification

Unit tests cover persisted membership, stale and missing members, compact user constants, access settings, nested folders, empty tables, XML names, and comparisons. Openness import can be tested in a separate project snapshot so creation and replacement tests leave the working project intact.
